Local players to battle it out to make place in national team

Kampala: The stage is all set for the local players to battle for places in the national chess team as they battle it out at the second phase of the World Chess Olympiad Qualifiers to be held on 3-4, 8 and 10 March at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel here.

The top 12 finishers after the second phase of the qualifiers will qualify for the last phase the qualifiers in April from which four players will be picked (in the men’s category) to join National Chess Champion, Arthur Ssegwanyi and Grace Kigeni in men’s and women’s section respectively.
