Puerto Rico: Seven-Time and Five-Division World Champion Floyd Mayweather and WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Miguel Cotto officially announced their May 5, 2012 world championship mega-fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Talking on the occasion, Miguel Cotto said “I will prepare very hard to defend my title in Las Vegas and return to Puerto Rico on May 6 as champion. I guarantee it."
But Mayweatherck at Cotto and said “When it comes down to it, one man has to rise to the occasion and that will be me. Floyd Mayweather is not a cheater like Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao.”
