New Delhi: NCC (West Bengal and Sikkim) beat Mynken Christian Higher Secondary School, Meghalaya 2-1 to win the Juniors U-17 Boys Subroto Cup Football Tournament held at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi on Friday.
Meanwhile, Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj lifted the first ever girls title of Subroto Cup Girls tournament by defeating Tagore International School, East of Kailash, New Delhi by a solitary Goal.
Air Marshal KK Nohwar PVSM VM ADC, Vice Chief of the Air Staff graced occasion as Chief Guest. Bhaiching Bhutia was the Guest of Honour during the tournament.
Prizes and Cash Prizes have been presented to the teams during the ceremony. The winner team was awarded with Rs. 3,00,000 while the runners-up team was awarded with Rs. 1,50,000. Best player and best coach was awarded with Rs. 25,000 and best goal keeper was awarded with Rs. 20,000. Best player and most promising player of the tournament was also awarded with a gear less scooter each during the ceremony by Bhaichung Bhutia.
