ISSF World Cup: Jitu Rai wins silver medal in 50 M Pistol event

issfNew Delhi: Jitu Rai once again made India proud by winning a silver medal in 50 M Pistol event during the ongoing ISSF World Cup at Maribor.

After winning a silver medal in air pistol event during ISSF World Cup, Munich, in May 2014 he won the silver medal in 50 M Pistol Men event during ISSF World Cup, Maribor by scoring 568 in the qualification round. Jitu performed remarkably well in the finals where he missed the gold medal by 0.1 point. He scored 193.9 in the finals whereas the gold medal score was 194.

Meanwhile, Ayonika Paul also showed her impressive performance by winning the silver medal in Air Rifle Event during ISSF World Cup, Maribor. Ayonika Paul scored 417.3 in the qualification round to reach the finals and scored 185.3 to win the bronze medal in this event.

Raninder Singh, president, The National Rifle Association of India congratulated Jitu Rai and Ayonika Paul after their medal winning performance and wished both the shooters along with all other shooters to give their best performance during Commonwealth Games which are scheduled to held at Glasgow in July this year.
