Paes-Stepanek lose to Murray-Fleming in 2nd round

leander-paesMontreal: It wasn’t a great outing for the fourth seeded duo of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek at Rodgers Cup as they suffered a second-round defeat at the hands of Andy Murray and Colin Fleming which also put curtains to the hopes of Indian in the tournament. Earlier, Rohan Bopanna had already been knocked out of the tournament with his partner Ander Begemann.


Indo-Czech pair failed to make the most of their chances, as they got five break chances and ended up hanging their heads down as they lost 3-6 3-6 to the British pair. Paes and Stepanek had two chances in the first set and three in the second but they failed to convert even one. To make matter worse, their opponents converted every single opportunity to overpower them.


It was curtains down for another Indian at the USD 2,887,085 hard court event, as she and her Chinese partner Jie Zhang lost in the second round.
