London: Serena Williams breezed through the opening round of the Wimbledon as she defeated Mandy Minella of Luxemburg 6-1, 6-3 here on on Tuesday . The five-time Wimbledon champion registered her 32nd win with this one-sided victory.

Williams did not give any chance to her opponent in the first set and didn't concede a single point on her serve. Though Minella got a slim chance of breaking her opponent's serve for a 2-0 lead in the second set, she could not do much and finished up with just five winners compared to 25 winners of the American.
