New Delhi: Dashing opening batsman of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shikhar Dhawan, feels the bouncy wickets of South-Africa will suit his batting style and to make his preparation more intense, he will start working on special batting skills. He said these special skills will help him cope-up with the bouncy and swinging conditions in South Africa.
In his interaction with media, Dhawan said, "It’s a tough task to do well in African conditions but I would like to continue with my attacking batting style against them. I am ready to take on any fast bowler on any wicket because I know that my stroke play will be more than handy on bouncy pitches.”
After the magnificent 187 runs in his debut innings Australia, his confidence is sky high and with the early start in his preparations, he will be looking for piling heaps of runs in the Test series against Proteas.
“Pace is the strength of South-African team but that is mine strength too. I love batting against pace bowlers. But this tour is going to be different than others and for that I will start honing my batting skills and our preparation will decide that who will win the series.”
On his recent fitness issues, he gave more insight by saying, "It might take me to two weeks more to recover completely from the injury. I am flying to Australia for the necessary medication," he concluded.
