Dravid wants Watson to roll his arms for Rajasthan Royals

rahuldravidNew Delhi: There is a lot of speculation on whether Shane Watson would bowl or not in the Indian Premier League this season, however, Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid expects the Australian to roll his arms in the IPL to give the team a much-needed balance.

Rahul Dravid in his interview to NDTV spoke about the team and their plans for this season. "Shane Watson has been a star performer for Rajasthan and if he bowls for us then it will be a huge bonus. Player of his caliber makes a lot of difference to the final outcome of the match. Physio will take the final decision on Watson but a match winner like him can make a huge impact in the shorter format of the game," said Dravid to NDTV.

Speaking about S Sreesanth, former Indian captain said, "Sreesanth also had some fitness issues last season, but this time he is looking much better. He is a genuine wicket-taker and his presence will make a lot of difference to our new ball attack. He can make it to the Indian side because he has that dedication and ability to make it to the international level. I hope he will keep his fitness in check and will play all the fixtures this season."

Watson had performed brilliantly in the first season and played a crucial role in winning the first edition of IPL. He ended with 472 runs and 17 wickets in the inaugural season.

"I have enjoyed my stint with IPL and I feel blessed that I have played all six seasons. But the good thing is I haven’t let my hunger of runs going down and I hope my prolific run will continue in this season too. Last time, we missed out in the class-contests because of which we made an early exit. This time we will keep those things in mind and will not allow oppositions to outshine us. Making into semis is our first target and from there on it all depends on luck," said Watson.
