Bangalore: Odisha defeated Karnataka by 65 runs in the Group B Ranji Trophy match being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Odisha wonall the six points on offer and are on top of the group with 13 points.
Karnataka needed 245 runs to win the match, and were in a descent position at 43/1 at the start of the day. The hosts lost the wicket of G. Satish very early in the day, but Robin Uthappa played some good shots to calm the nerves.
Uthappa got out on 45 but Amit Verma (27) and Stuart Binny (42) added 57 runs to take the hosts close to the target. But soon the two got out and the remaining batsmen did nothing to scare Odisha.
Karnataka lost their last six wickets for only 33 runs.
