Saina retains her third spot in world badminton rankings

sainanehwalNew Delhi: India’s Saina Nehwal with 82,112 points hung to her third place in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) women’s rankings, which was released on Friday. Wang Yihan of China leads the chart with 93,233 points and is followed by her team-mate Li Xuerui with 83,227 points.


The next Indian on the table was P.V. Sindhu, who was placed at 25th position.


In the men’s section, Parupalli Kashyap and Ajay Jayaram also held on to 23rd and 27th positions, respectively. Sourabh Verma dropped a place to 33. In the men’s doubles, K.T. Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas gained a place to be 27th.


In women’s doubles, Jwala and Ashwini Ponnappa are ranked 21st while in mixed doubles Jwala is 19th with V. Diju.
