French Open: Saina Nehwal outplays Schenk to reach final

sainaParis: Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal defeated Juliane Schenk of Germany 21-19 21-8 to reach the finals of the ongoing French Open Super Series.

The London Olympics bronze medallist took 36 monutes to outplay her opponent in straight games. The match saw some brilliant badminton as both players showed their class. This was Saina’s second win over Schenk in two weeks as she defeated the German in the final of the Denmark Open.

Saina was a bit rusty in the opening points of the first game but soon gathered her composure, Schenk took a healthy lead of five points as she was leading 15-10 but Saina fought back to level the score at 16 all, she than picked up the pace to win the game.

Saina was unstoppable in the second game and won the match easily in the end.

She will know face Minatsu Mitani of Japan in the finals
