Romain Grosjean of Lotus became the only driver to top the times twice during this year’s pre-season testing at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya. Grosjean’s late lap of 1m 22.614s resulted in him getting a half a second lead over fellow Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne in the Toro Rosso.

“I’m very happy with the car, and it was great that we could still run strongly at the end of the session, even after a long stint,” said Grosjean

He added, “At the start of the day our team suffered slightly with tyre degradation, but we changed a few things and this improved as the day went on. Today was the first race distance I’ve completed in a long time and I’m feeling pretty good about it. No doubt my neck will be a little sore tomorrow, but the rest of me is fine”, he chuckled.
