Indian eves win inaugural Kabaddi World Cup

Patna: Indian eves defeated the team from Iran in summit clash to win the inaugural Women Kabaddi World Cup being played at the Patlipura Sports Complex at Kankerbagh.

Earlier in the tournament, India defeated Chinese Taipei in the preliminary round of the tournament, to reach the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals India thrashed Indonesia 65-20 to face Japan in the semifinals.

The inspired Indian girls routed Japan in the semifinal to win a one-sided contest 59-20. The home team dominated the visitors right from the word go and got an invincible lead of 32-08 in the half-time. There was no respite for the Japanese team as the Indian girls continued to pile up the pressure which gave them the berth in the final.
