Chicago Bulls earn top spot in Eastern Conference

New York: The Chicago Bulls, who were without the services of 2011 MVP Derrick Rose for several games this season, earned the top spot in the Eastern Conference and will take on the eighth-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs beginning this Saturday. All eyes in the Eastern Conference will be focused on the clash between the second-seeded Miami Heat and the New York Knicks, the seventh seed.

The Indiana Pacers are the third seed and will meet the Orlando Magic in the first round while the fourth seeded Boston Celtics will take on the fifth seeded Atlanta Hawks. The San Antonio Spurs are the top seed in the Western Conference and will battle it out against the eighth seed, the Utah Jazz in the first round.


The defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks, the seventh seed, will take on the second seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in a rematch of the 2011 Western Conference Finals, while the third seeded Los Angeles Lakers will play the sixth seeded Denver Nuggets and the Memphis Grizzlies, the fourth seed, will take on the fifth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
