Indians mark entry into 2nd round of Future Tennis

 

Chandigarh: Indians did well in the singles of the ITF Men’s Future US$ 10,000 Tennis Tournament as four Indians marked their entry into the second round on Tuesday which is being played at the CLTA Lawns in Chandigarh. It was N Sriram Balaji who won the first set by 6-3. Sam Berry(Ireland) gave him a tough time as Balaji had to struggle hard to overcome him as the score was 6-3, 7-6(1) in the second set.

 

 

Mathhieu Vierin (Italy ) won the first singles after defeating A Rajagopalan, who lost first set 6-4 and trailing 2-1 in the second set because of pain in the shoulder. It was N Sriram Balaji who won the first set 6-3. Sam Berry(Ireland) gave him a tough time as Balaji had to struggle hard to overcome him as the score was 6-3, 7-6(1) in the second set. Hsien Yin Peng (Taiwan) and Akash Wagh (India), gavePeng notch an easy sets win 6-3, 6-2. Saketh Myneni 8th seed from India made short work of James Feaver (Great Britain) in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

 

Mark Alexander Keplar (Germany) lost to 7th seed Sarvar Ikramov (Uzbekistan) 6-2, 6-4. Richard Gabb (Great Britain) lost the first set 6-4 to the fourth seed Kento Takeuchi (Japan) and thereafter, retired with stomach ache. Hsien Yin Peng (Taiwan) and Akash Wagh (India), gavePeng notch an easy sets win 6-3, 6-2. Saketh Myneni 8th seed from India made short work of James Feaver (Great Britain) in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Qualifier Jordi Munoz Abreu (Spain) had an easy outing against Kaza Vinayak Sharma who crashed out in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

 

In the first doubles match Vivek Shokeen and Sanam K Singh defeated Vignesh Peranamullur and Akash Wagh off their feet in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 while the Indian pair of Vijay Kannan and Arun Rajgopalan defeated the pair of Mark Alexander Kepler (Germany) and Kaza Vinayak Sharma of India in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
