Mohali Golf Range conducts 1st Castle Sports Open Golf Challenge

Castle Sports Open GolfMohali: Mohali Golf Range conducted the 1st Castle Sports Open “Golf Challenge” on Sunday. There were 90 participants in all categories, including A,B,C,D,E,F categories of juniors ,sub juniors, boys ,girls ,amateurs , seniors, and ladies as per Indian Golf Union standards.

The golf challenge consisted of competitions in long driving, putting, chipping and bunker play and both members and non-members participated in the event. There was an international flavour to the tournament also with one player from USA and Bangladesh also participating in the tournament.
The Logest Drive of 280 yards was hit by Lucas of Austin, Texas USA . There were also separate prizes for a family putting competition.

Amit Dhaka, IAS, Chief Administrator, GMADA and General Secretary, Mohali Golf Range was the chief guest for the prize distribution function and encouraged the participants and gave away the prizes to the winners and certificates to the runners up alongwith participation certificates to all the participants.

“We are very encouraged by the tremendous response as 90 players, including young boys and girls as young as 3 years participated and they are the future of golf in India. The senior most player who participated was 75 years old and we also had a team of 12 children participating from Delhi Public School Khanna. Size specific golf equipments and golf balls were provided for all the participants who did not own golf equipment thereby making it affordable and accessible for all. This Golf Challenge will be an annual event and we will be having similar events for our 700 members.”
