Baichung Bhutia Football School to take on Mahilpur Football Academy in opening match of Administrator Cup on Sept 22

football iconCHANDIGARH: Baichung Bhutia Football School, Delhi, will take on Mahilpur Football Academy in the opening match of the 14th Administrator’s Challenge Cup All-India Football Tournament for under-17 boys at the Sector 17 Football Stadium on Thursday.

As many as 18 teams, including defending champions are expected to participate in the event, which will be played on league-cum-knock-out basis. Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher will be the chief guest at the opening match.

The participating teams have been divided into four groups and the winner of each group will reach the knowck-out stage (semi-finals). Both the semifinals will be played on the September 28, with final slated for September 30.
A total of 36 matches will be played at two venues—Sector 17 Football Stadium and Sector 42 Sports Complex. Matches will be supervised by qualified referees provided by the Chandigarh Football Association.
The tournament is being organised by Chandigarh sports department under the aegis of All-India Football Federation. Senior football coach IP Nagi has been appointed as technical incharge of the tournament.
