Pune: DSK Shivajians ‘B’, comprising of LFC-DSK Academy players, registered a landslide 8-0 victory over Bishop FC in their PDFA First Division League at the BEG, Khadki ground.

The hero of the day was the four-goal effort by Nikhil Mali (68th, 70th, 75th, 78th), while Gagandeep Singh 12th minute opener, Rohit Kumar (60th), substitute Marchstarfield (55th) and Lalnunsiama (85th) accounted for the goal glut.

Having been involved in recently concluded 120th IFA Shield and the Under-18 I-League in Kolkata, DSK Shivajians ‘B’ returned to their local commitments with vigor.

It didn’t take them long to open their account. Gagandeep, easing his way past the Bishop’s defence, ended placing the ball past the ‘keeper who simply watched on.

At the breather, DSK Shivajians ‘B’ held on to the 1-0 advantage.

On resumption, DSK Shivajians ‘B’ looked to score early, but had to wait. Marchstarfield, coming off the bench, opened the second-half scoring by netting in the 55th minute. Rohit Kumar, then, struck past Bishop’s keeper to make it 3-0.

Thereafter, Nikhil Mali stepped in and took over scoring by finding the net four times.

Lalnunsiama, the gritty defender, also got his name on the score sheet, netting off a rebound from the opponent’s keeper.

At the end of regulation time the scoreline read 8-0. The win was far from convincing for the team which would surely help them build some momentum going into their next match against BEG on the 2nd March, 2016.
