New Delhi: The Indian Men Wrestling team (Greco Roman Style and Free Style) will participate in the Vth Senior International Wrestling Tournament "Cup of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan" to be held at Astana (Kazakhstan) from 23- 26 July 2015.

This tournament will be an opportunity for Indian wrestling team to prepare for the Senior World Wrestling Championship to be held at Las Vegas, USA from 7-12 September 2015. The tournament will see participation from 20 nations including hosts Kazakhstan, India, Russia, Japan, Korea, USA, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Brazil, China, Greece, Georgia, Italy, Sweden, Canada and Maldives. The 15 member team consists of 7 wrestlers under Free Style and 8 wrestlers under Greco Roman Style will participate in the tournament.

Mr. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Member Parliament and President Wrestling Federation of India said “the tournament will provide much needed exposure for Indian wrestlers prior to their participation in the World Championship. Our wrestlers have been working hard in the national camp since November 2014 but now it’s the time to play against top teams of the World for gaining international exposure”.

The team will depart from Delhi on 21st July 2015 for Kazakhstan.
