Hockey India congratulates Mariamma Koshy, Dr. RP Singh and Elena Norman for their appointment as Committee Members in Asian Hockey Federation

New Delhi: The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has announced the appointment of Ms. Mariamma Koshy, Dr. R. P. Singh and Ms. Elena Norman as Committee Members in the Federation. Hockey India congratulates all three of them.

Mariamma Koshy as ‘Member Women in Hockey Committee’, Dr. R.P.Singh as ‘Member Athlete Committee’ and Ms. Elena Norman, CEO, Hockey India has been appointed as ‘Member Competition Committee’ with AHF for a period of three years effective 28th March 2015.

Congratulating Koshy, Dr. Singh and Norman, Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General, Hockey India said “Hockey India is immensely elated as we have three more representatives from India as Committee Members of the Asian Hockey Federation. The objective of the Federation is to take Asian Hockey to the next level and I am sure that the Members will live up to this expectation and make us proud. I, on behalf of Hockey India, congratulate them and look forward to their successful term at the Asian Hockey Federation.”

Mariamma Koshy, is a former state level hockey player. She his currently the Senior Vice President at Hockey India and was previous the President until October 2014. With Hockey being her passion she has worked towards the upliftment of the sport in India through her association with Hockey India and Kerala Hockey and has been working at the grassroot level to scout talent.

Dr. R.P. Singh, Athlete Representative, Hockey India is among the esteemed selectors at Hockey India. He is a former International player and has represented the country during the 1986 and 1990 World Cup’s. Always hooked to the game, Dr. R P Singh continues to play a significant role towards promoting Hockey and is considered as one with a sharp eye to identify talent.

Elena Norman, CEO, Hockey India has been associated with the body for more than 4 years. She has to her credit the inception of Hockey India League and has been instrumental in ensuring that the League continues to witness three successful editions. Under her leadership, Hockey India has ensured that there have been consistent tournaments organized to promote hockey at national and international level in the country.
