Chennai Super Kings have been the most consistent side this season and with Mike Hussey in his peak form, they would be looking to outplay the likes of Dale Steyn and Amit Mishra who have been the cornerstone of Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling line-up. CSK have seen some brilliant performance from Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina with the bat in this edition of IPL and they would be looking to make it big against the likes of Thisara Perera. Meanwhile, Cameron White would be looking to rise up to the occasion and make himself count along with Hanuma Vihari.
Here we bring to you the players to watch out for from the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
MS Dhoni: Dhoni has been fantastic this season, not just with the bat but as a captain too, which gives his side a lot of stability. He has done almost everything correct this season but he needs to score boundaries more frequently than he is doing now. There is no point in making an easy looking total a thriller.
Mike Hussey: Mike Hussey has been the most consistent batsmen this season and it is going to be a great challenge for Steyn and Mishra to get him out as soon as possible. The longer Hussey stays on the crease, the more runs he will score.
Suresh Raina: Raina looked brilliant in the last outing as he went on to score a blistering 51 runs. A dynamite batsman like him can be more dangerous but he needs to stay at the crease till the 20th over for that to happen.
Mohit Sharma: Sharma has been looking the most consistent fast bowler for CSK this season. His ability to restrict the flow of runs in the initial overs makes a lot of difference in the runs scored by opposition. He would be looking to make the most of the fragile top-order of Hyderabad.
Ravindra Jadeja: Jadeja was quite expensive in the last match and didn’t even contribute with the bat but he can be really handy against the batting line-up which is having lot of right-handers in the middle-order and they are not in good form for sure.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
Dale Steyn: Steyn has been mind-boggling this season but he needs to be amongst the wickets to be more lethal. His pace has been nagging the batsmen and it would be interesting to see how he will be coming on Mike Hussey who is in brilliant form this season of IPL.
Amit Mishra: Mishra has been sensational with his brilliant all-round efforts. His ability of picking up wickets in quick succession is something that opposition is always wary of. In last match, he ended up with the figures of 2/29 in four overs. He has pulled off the victory for SRH almost three times in IPL this season and he is going to be the trump card for today’s match.
Hanuma Vihari: Hanuma Vihari has been the find of this season for SRH and it would be interesting to see how he would respond to some brilliant bowling of Ravindra Jadeja and Mohit Sharma. He needs to be used more frequently in bowling department because he can be a wicket-taking option in mid-overs.
Shikhar Dhawan: Dhawan will add loads of strength to SRH line-up with his explosive batting. He has that ability to give that sensational start by playing aggressively. His recent form should set up an ideal platform for his comeback in this edition of IPL.
Cameron White: White has not been in the best of form this season and this might be his last chance to prove his worth. He needs to score in this match or he should make way for Perera to come up the order and give the team a much needed push.
