Chennai Super Kings are all set to take on Pune Warriors India in a thrilling encounter at Subrata Ray Sahara Stadium on Tuesday. MS Dhoni has been in brilliant form along with Mike Hussey and Suresh Raina who had added immense strength to CSK’s top order with their blistering knocks in recent matches. But against the duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashok Dinda, they might have some hard time. With Yuvraj Singh in good touch, it’s not going to be easy for Ravi Ashwin to tackle him with his carom ball.
Here we bring to you the players to watch out for between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Pune Warriors India (PWI).
Chennai super Kings (CSK)
MS Dhoni: Dhoni has played some brilliant innings this season and would be looking to do so against PWI. His decision to bat up the order has worked out well till now. His team has been quite consistent in away games as they have won all three of them and would be looking to continue their victory run against PWI. Dhoni will hold the key for CSK’s success in this match.
Mike Hussey: Mike Hussey has again proved himself to be a one-man army and had been hitting the ball very well. He has never looked as explosive as he is looking after retirement from international cricket. His strength of staying at the crease is helping CSK in every match that they have played till now. It would be interesting to see how he will go against the swing of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Suresh Raina: Raina has played some good innings but a big innings is due from him as the tournament is leading into its second half. Raina has that ability to explode from the word go but somehow he has not been able to do that till now.
Ravichandran Ashwin: Ashwin is in prime form with the ball. Though he is not the leading wicket taker but surely he is one of the most economical bowlers of IPL-6. His spin will come in handy on the surface of Pune as it gives enough turn and bounce for spinners.
Mohit Sharma: Sharma has groomed well under Dhoni’s captaincy. Dhoni has done some smart work by bowling him as a first change sometimes or making him bowl all his four overs at one go. Mohit has also done justice by keep nagging the batsmen with his bowling. In last match, he ended up with the figures of 1/23.
Pune warriors India (PWI)
Yuvraj Singh: Yuvraj is a power house and if he gets going, then no boundary is big enough. He has somehow been underused by his captain. He can come in very handy on this wicket where the ball might skid more. He is going to be the impact player in this crucial match for PWI.
Aaron Finch: Finch needs to stick to the basics. He has been fancying his chances by going for bowling and underusing either Abhishek Nayar or Yuvraj Singh, who know these conditions better than him. He has been good with the bat and a good performance is expected from him in this match.
Robin Uthappa: Uthappa has given good starts from time to time but has failed to convert them into the big ones. He plays either too slow or too fast because of which he gets out at wrong times. He should keep hitting the boundaries to loose balls rather than guiding them for ones or twos.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: Bhuvneshwar can be very lethal as he has that ability to give early blows especially in his first couple of overs. Bhuvaneshwar looks the only lethal bowler in Pune outfit and he needs to live up to the expectation in this encounter.
Ashok Dinda: Dinda bowled brilliantly in last match as he picked up three wickets and all were crucial ones. He just needs to bowl in right channel and he can be dangerous against the middle-order of CSK.
