Chennai Super Kings will like to continue with their winning streak when they take on Mumbai Indians on Sunday. With Suresh Raina and Mike Hussey in prime form, MS Dhoni would be a bit relaxed but Mitchell Johnson and Harbhajan Singh can make a significant difference as they are also amongst the wicket takers in this season of Indian Premier League. Meanwhile opening duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Dwayne smith can demolish any pace attack on any given day and it’s going to be a battle within a battle when they will take on Mohit Sharma and Dwayne Bravo.
Here we bring to you the players to watch out for in the match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Mumbai Indians (MI)
Sachin Tendulkar: Tendulkar has been looking a bit rusty this season but he is big player who can deliver in any big game. His presence at the crease can give any bowler a tough time and CSK would be looking to get his wicket as quickly as possible.
Dwayne Smith: Smith has shown some great form this season and would be looking to relish his stint at Wankhede against Chennai Super Kings. He just needs to play more aggressively in the first three-four overs so that Rohit Sharma and rest of the middle order can come hard on the bowlers.
Rohit Sharma: Rohit is under some serious pressure as he has lot to prove in this crunch match. It will take a brilliant team effort from Mumbai Indians to outplay the side which has not lost a single away match this season. He needs to march his troops really well to make the best of his resources.
Mitchell Johnson: Johnson has bowled some really good spells in this edition of IPL so far but against Chennai Super Kings he needs to be amongst the wickets which can put them under pressure. His swinging ability can surely give a tough time to Mike Hussey and Suresh Raina, who are also in prime form.
Harbhajan Singh: Harbhajan Singh can play a significant role in this match, especially while bowling to Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. He knows their strengths really well and can make the difference if he hits the right area while bowling.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Suresh Raina: Raina has been the driving force of the CSK’s middle order and if he gets going then he can make a significant difference. After a century in last match, his confidence must be quite high and would be looking to demolish the bowling attack of Mumbai Indians.
Mike Hussey: Mike Hussey has the ability to stitch the whole innings of Chennai single-handedly but he has been looking bit more aggressive in last few matches which got him out quite early. Pitch at Wankhede will surely assist him and player of his class would be looking to make a big impact in this clash.
MS Dhoni: Dhoni has done really well not only as a captain but as a keeper and batsmen too. He just needs to rotate his spin bowlers well as they are coming a bit late into the attack in past few matches. He can be really explosive in the last five overs and it would be interesting to see how he faces Mitchell Johnson.
Mohit Sharma: Sharma has turned out to be the find of this IPL and would be looking to keep nagging the batsmen with his brilliant bowling. He can make significant difference as he has that ability to give back to back breakthroughs in the initial overs.
Dwayne Bravo: Bravo has been the leading wicket-taker for CSK this season and it would be interesting to see how MS Dhoni will use him. He has come on to bowl mostly after 10 overs and has bowled the final over in most of the matches. His variation in pace adds real strength to CSK’s bowling unit.
