India series is going to be one of the biggest challenges of my career: Clarke

clarke201Chennai: Australian captain Michael Clarke, who is going to march his troops against India in the upcoming Test series, has rated India a better unit than Australia on Indian soil and said it’s going to be one of the biggest challenges of his career.

Going by the past Test records of the Aussies in India, he is very spot on as they have struggled a lot on the Indian conditions. Clarke said, “India was the final frontier when Australia toured India under the captaincy of Steve Waugh. Despite winning the first Test, we lost the series. This is what makes series against India as much more intensified because something will happen every now and then and you need to apply yourself day in and day out on these pitches.”

"Touring India has always been very tough and our boys know that very well. Patience is the key to success. Recent form of David Warner and Ed Cowan will bring some positivity to the side. Shane Watson needs to come back into the line-up,'' Clarke said.

"It's a lot different now that Watson is not bowling. As an all-rounder, I think he walks into any team. As a batsman, there is a much bigger pool of players, so we've got to work out what our best batting line-up is,” added the Australian skipper.

Clarke who had been the top scorer in 2012 is expecting he'll have to bowl some of his left-arm spin. "I will be more than happy to bowl on Indian pitches,'' Clarke said.
