Chennai Super Kings signed off from the Champions League Twenty20 with their head held high after a four wickets win over Yorkshire on Monday. The match was an inconsequential for both the teams and they were playing to salvage their pride.
Batting first, Yorkshire scored 140-6 in their stipulated 20 overs. Chennai in reply faltered in the middle for a while, but then regrouped well to win the match with our wickets. The loss now sees Yorkshire go back home winless.

S Badrinath: Yorkshire could have registered their first win of the tournament but then it was due to Badrinath’s innings that they were denied their first win of the tournament. Badrinath held on to his nerves and played well under pressure to help Chennai win the match. He scored 47 off 38 deliveries that included four boundaries.
MS Dhoni: The skipper played well under pressure and complemented Badrinath well in the match. He scored 31 off 23 deliveries that included two fours and as many sixes.
Albie Morkel: Morkel was not that impressive in the previous matches but on Monday produced a brilliant spell to stop Yorkshire batsmen from breaking free. He took two wickets b giving away just 12 runs.
Flops:
Ravindra Jadeja: Jadeja could not make an impression in the tournament either with bat or ball. Even against Yorkshire he flopped with ball as well with the bat. He gave away 15 runs in one over that he bowled and scored only four runs.
Yorkshire:
Hits:
Gary Ballance: Ballance was the only batsman who was effective against Chennai bowlers. He helped Yorkshire to a competitive total with his 38 balls 58 that included a four and five huge sixes.
Flops:
Joe Root: He came into bat at the crucial number three position, and it was required for him to lead the charge. But the pressure got the better off him and he was out for six off 11 balls.
