Bangalore: Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli shared an unbeaten 88 runs stand to steady Indian innings and took India to 168/4 at tea after India lost Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar in quick succession after lunch.
Bracewell accounted for both the wickets. Sehwag scored 43, Sachin scored 17.
Going into the tea break Raina was playing on 51 while Kohli was on 33.
Earlier, Tim Southee was at the top of his bowling as he struck twice to remove Gautam Gambhir (2) and Cheteswar Pujara (9) before lunch on the second day of second Test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here today.
India were on 63-2 with Virender Sehwag batting on 39 and Sachin Tendulkar on 4.
Earlier in the day New Zealand who started on the overnight score of 328 could play only 8.4 overs and were bowled out for 365 runs.
Pragyan Ojha was the pick of the bowlers with his five wickets hauls. For New Zealand Ross Taylor scored a breath-taking 113, followed by half centuries by Kruger van Wyk (71) and Martil Guptill (53).
