Yangon, Myanmar: Zaykabar Company Limited, one of the leading companies in construction and real estate development in Myanmar, has committed to title sponsor the Myanmar Open for the second successive year.
The Zaykabar Myanmar Open Presented by Alpine is supported by the Ministry of Sports in Myanmar and returns as the season-opening event for the 2013 Asian Tour season with a prize fund of US$300,000 at the Royal Mingalardon Golf and Country Club from February 21 to 24.
Myanmar’s most prestigious golfing event will welcome many of the top Asian Tour stars to the country including reigning Order of Merit winner Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand.

Asian Tour Executive Chairman Kyi Hla Han believes the successful staging of the Zaykabar Myanmar Open bodes well for the future of golf in the country.

The Zaykabar Myanmar Open will continue to promote Myanmar as a golf and tourist destination while also providing the region’s best golfers with a truly international-class championship golf course to compete on.

Inaugurated in 1996, the Myanmar Open has seen a list of illustrious names on its roll of honour including defending champion Kieran Pratt of Australia who won in a thrilling play-off last year.
Among the other winners of the event include three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand, countryman Boonchu Ruangkit, American Anthony Kang, South African James Kingston, Chinese Taipei’s Lin Keng-chi and Japan’s Tetsuji Hiratsuka.
