Bengaluru: Rookie Shweta Galande played consistent golf today to clinch her maiden win on the 9th leg of Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013. Shweta finished with a total score of 201 (66,66,69) after 54 holes to take home the winner’s trophy. Veteran golfer Smriti Mehra finished as the runner’s up trailing Shweta by three shots. Hero MotoCorp sponsored local golfer Sharmila Nicollet with a total score of 208 finished third after the final round. The INR 6,00,000 event, which culminated today, was being played at the picturesque Clover Greens golf course.

Shweta Galande who has already impressed many with her quality of golf in her rookie season, clinched her maiden win today at the 9th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013. Shweta scored a total of 201 with three birdies on the 2nd, 6th and 17th holes. Her round consisted of two bogeys on the 3rd and 18th holes. Veteran Delhi Golfer Smriti Mehra finished as the runner’s up in the tournament with a total score of 204 (64,75,65). Smriti played a power packed final round carding the day’s lowest score of five under 65 with seven birdies on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 12th, 13th and 14th holes and with two bogeys on the 8thand 11th holes.
 

Hero MotoCorp sponsored local golfer Sharmila Nicollet who came back to the tour post an ankle injury played consistent golf throughout the tournament to finish third with a total score of 208 (70,69,69). Her round today consisted of four birdies on the 1st, 7th, 12th and 17th holes and three bogeys on the 4th, 6th and 11th holes. Chandigarh’s Sanniya Sharma (75, 67, 67) and local amateur Aditi Ashok (68, 70, 71) finished tied fourth with identical total of 209 after the final round. Delhi golfer Vani Kapoor finished fifth with a total score of 210 (73, 67, 70) after 54 holes.
