Saina Nehwal storms into second round

According to The Hindu report ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal ousted Scotland’s Susan Egelstaff in straight sets (21-5, 21-6) and stormed into the second round of the Korea Open Super Series in Seoul on Wednesday.


In other match, Jwala Gutta and V. Diju defeated the Malaysian pair of Peng Soon Chan and Liu Ying Goh in a mixed double match (21-18, 21-18). Ajay Jayaram conceded his men's singles match against Korean Wan Ho Shon trailing 0-1 in the first game.



Meanwhile, Indian squash player Anaka Alankamony (seeded ¾), outplayed Victoria Temple–Murray of England (seeded 9/16), 12-10, 11-9, 11-8 and advanced in the girls under -19 quarterfinal of the British junior open squash championship at Sheffield, says the Hindu.


Coming to cricket, former Australian Test batsman Mark Waugh has criticized Indian Captain MS Dhoni for his defensive tactics. According to The Telegraph, Waugh said that rather than attacking the opposition, Dhoni waits for them to make a mistake. He said that India do play well in their country but abroad they should be ranked much lower than they actually are right now. He also criticized the Indians body language and their attitude on the field.
