TN boys, Kerala girls in quarterfinals

Perinthalmanna:  The boys from Tamil Nadu looked unstoppable as they made short work of Uttarakhand 25-14, 25-11, 25-9 on their way to the quarterfinals of the National sub-junior volleyball championship at the GBHSS courts here on Sunday.

It was a clinical performance from the reigning champion, outplaying Uttarakhand. Some telling smashes from skipper R. Senthil Kumar and M. Kavi Arasan entertained a holiday crowd; and there were fine performances from K.S. Ragul Raj, K. Raghul and A. Muthusamy as well.

Tamil Nadu expectedly topped Pool ‘A', winning all its games; Punjab also made the grade from the same group. From Pool ‘B', Uttar Pradesh, which finished runner-up last year, and Haryana entered the quarterfinals.
