If our tail-enders manage to stretch the lead even by 30 or 40 runs, then we have a good chance: Murali Vijay

Indian opening batsman Murali Vijay is confident of chasing whatever target that Aussie batsmen will set against India on the third day of the final test at Kotla. He feels that match is still in balance and both the teams had to play out of their skins to win this Test.

According to the reports in Deccan Chronicle, Murali Vijay was quoted saying, “Gates of victories are open for both the sides and the team which will play better for the next two or three days will surely win the match. If our tail-enders can stretch the lead even by 30 or 40 runs, then we have a good chance.”

Vijay played a knock of 57 runs and was looking very well set before he got the awkward bouncer from Peter Siddle which kissed his gloves and went into the gloves of the keeper.

Meanwhile, a report in Deccan Herald quoted him saying, "It doesn’t matter what target they put up on the board because we know only one thing that we have to win this match by making one run extra than their total. It's been a good tournament for me so far and I am happy to contribute to the team's cause,"

"It’s bowler friendly wicket and judging the ball in itself is a huge task. If will deteriorate further, then for sure batsmen are having a tough task in their hand,.” he added

According to the reports of Indian Express, he was quoted saying, "Incident between David Warner and Ravindra Jadeja was not a first time that happened in India-Australia series and that kind of incidents always motivate players to answer the opposition with the ball or bat.”
