It has been a very disappointing performance from us, says Shane Watson

Shane Watson feels that the whitewash in India wasn't good for the whole team ahead of the Ashes Tour. It has not just shaken the players but has put forward a bigger challenge for them comeback ahead of the upcoming matches of their Ashes Tour. India paid back the humiliation that they received Down Under last year and that too in grand style by defeating Australian team in less than three days.

Watson was disappointed and was quoted saying that by Times of India, “It has been a very disappointing performance and we could have done much well than what we did. We were here to get our first series win in last two decades but we didn’t put our best foot forward and that cost us this series.”

"I was amongst the biggest failures of the series and I haven't scored enough runs. A lot was expected from me as I am used to the conditions but somehow things didn’t go in my favour and I failed miserably. Our top-order didn’t come up with power-packed performances as it was expected and that was one of the reasons that we failed .But we will take this series a lesson and would surely learn from our shortcomings in every department.”

AS per the recent reports of The Hindu, Australian Captain was quoted saying , “Conditions were really tough to bat on. Even the cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar had a tough time. But our batsmen could have tried more to score more runs, this story would have been quite different.”

“Any individual needs to bat out of his comfort-zone otherwise he will struggle on Indian wicket. We had faced some top quality spin bowling in this series and also our spinners got the experience of bowling on these turning tracks.”

According to the recent reports in Indian Express, "I had also gone through a hard time but I have moved on with that off-field incident which caused lot of buzz in the cricketing world but now things had been pacified and we are looking forward to work as a Team."

He went on to saying that, "We were always in the game but Chetashwar Pujara played a brilliant knock which turned the tables otherwise we would have got the much needed victory. Pujara showed some high-quality batting not just today but throughout the series which was surely one of the reasons that India clinched this series.”

Australian captain was quoted by Deccan Chronicle, saying , “Australians always play some very hard cricket and make the opposition earn every single run rather than throwing away the opportunity and we know that what kind of decency we need to maintain on the field. At the end of the day, all of us are ambassador of this game and no one wants to come up with a negative image on that.”
