Rio de Janeiro: Gremio slammed Veranopolis 4-1 in the third round of the Rio Grande do Sul state championship, also known as the Farroupilha Cup.
Head coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo celebrated his team's four-game winning streak as well as the most goals the team has scored since his arrival nearly one month ago.
Despite the victory, the coach stated his dissatisfaction with the team's relaxed style of play in the second half. Luxemburgo also criticized star midfielder Kleber for missing two scoring opportunities.
The win keeps Gremio in first place of Group B with 9 points. In the next round, Gremio will travel to face Cruzeiro-RS March 25. (IANS)
