Champions League: Chelsea beat Napoli 4-1

London: A dramatic injury time goal by Branislav Ivanovic in the injury time helped Chelsea beat Napoli 4-1 and move into the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League 2012. Chelsea who were down 1-3 from the first leg in Naples moved to the last eight of the league on a 5-4 aggregate.

It is only the fourth time in the history of modern day football that a team has overcome a deficit of more than goals. The win also has now made Chelsea the only club from England to make it so far in this year’s Champion League.

Chelsea went 2-0 up in the first half through Didier Drogba and John Terry’s header. The goals saw the Blues go up on away goal.

But however Gokhan Inler of Napoli scored to restore the advantage for the visitors. Chelsea fought back and scored the third goal of the match through Frank Lampard off a penalty to level the disparity and took the match into the injury time.

Fifteen minutes into extra time and Ivanovic found the goal from inside the box to send the Blues through and Stamford Bridge on fire.
