The match with no clear favourites, started with both the teams taking attacking posture against each other. But in the initial 20 minutes both the teams missed ample chances to score, while Simla being the better of two sides in all the departments.

But it was Aiken Dias who gave the first half lead to Vasco in the 25th minute, when he dribbled past Simla defenders to bulge the net with his left footer. In the rest of the half both the teams kept attacking each other’s forte without any success.

Changing over, Simla Youngs yet again started on the positive, with waves of attack on the rival post. Their persistent efforts paid them soon when former JCT striker Badru Keke Ibrahim on a pass from the deep gave no chance to the Vasco custodian Agnelo Noronha to safeguard his citadel and restored parity for the local side in the 68th minute.

But their joy was short-lived, as six minutes later Vasco again took the lead through Jerose Olivera who headed home the second goal for the visitors.

Situation remained same in the rest of the half. While Simla Youngs have themselves to blame for all the chances they muffed upfront, hence, losing the match.
