Cricket Australia were appointed former English batsman Graeme Hick as their batting coach. The appointment comes in the wake of Mike de Venuto stepping down from the post to pursue better opportunities as he takes over the reins at Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
With as many as three tournaments lined up for the Aussies in England, including the much awaited Ashes series which they will be hopeful of defending and the ICC Champions Trophy, the Englishman's rich knowledge and expertise of the conditions prevalent there would prove to be more than a handful in ensuring the Aussies put up a good show in their outings there.
Following this appointment, Hick joins the likes of Darren Lehmann who is the head coach of the team, Greg Blewett who handles the fielding department and David Saker who is in charge of bowling.
Australia would be hoping that this appointment does them a world of good keeps their rich vein of form going.
