Chess: Bihar's Saurabh Anand hogs the limelight

chess pictureLucknow: Bihar’s boys Saurabh Anand hogged the limelight on Saturday in the 4th Dr. K.L.Garg Memorial International Rating Chess Championship at KD Singh Babu Stadium here.

Saurabh defeated Rajasthan’s Sudhakar. Saurabh has collected 7 points and still placed on top position.

In another exciting encounter, Nasir Ali Syed of Uttar Pradesh played against Delhi’s DS Negi, Nasir beat Negi and collect 6.5 points. Pradip Tiwari of DASCB played against Viresh Chaturvedi, after toiling hard both the players agreed for a draw.

Delhi’s Manish Uniyal defeated J&K’s Maxim Singh and collects 6 points. Rishabh Nishad of UP collects 6 points after beat his state mate Sushil Kumar Verma. Bihar’s Gaurav Kumar defeated UP’s Vishal Bharti to collects 6 points.


NV Mannepalli of Andhra Pradesh beat Ashu Veram of Lucknow collects 6 points.
