Saina eases into next round of Malaysia Open

Kuala Lumpur: Fourth seed Saina Nehwal didn’t have to sweat like her first round match against Shao Chieh Chang, as the Indian ace defeated the Chinese Taipei shuttler (21-19, 21-8) in the second round of Maybank Malaysia Open being held here on Wednesday.

Though Shao gave some scare to Saina in the first game, the Indian managed to rope in the set at 21-19. Thereafter, Saina had no difficulty in negotiating the Chinese Taipei girl and took the set at 21-8. The match, which lasted for 31 minutes, saw Saina in a better frame of mind and now the fourth seed will now meet Tine Baun in the third round.
