India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu crashes out of Asian championships

PV Sindhu badmintonWuhan (China): Indian star P.V. Sindhu went down fighting to Bingjiao of China in the women's singles quarter-finals at the Badminton Asia Championships 2017 here on Friday.

The fourth seeded Sindhu won the first game before the eighth seeded Chinese staged a come-back to win 15-21, 21-14, 24-22 in one hour and 17 minutes.

Earlier, Sindhu had defeated Aya Ohori of Japan to advance into the second round of the Badminton Asia Championships while compatriot Ajay Jayaram bowed out of the tournament going down to Chinese Taipei's Hsu Jen Hao here on Thursday.

Continuing her prime form, Sindhu outplayed the Japanese shuttler 21-14, 21-15 in a match that lasted 40 minutes at the Wuhan Sports Centre Gymnasium here.
