Warsaw: The Polish government launched a social campaign "Poles 2012 - we are all hosts" to encourage Poles to feel as responsible guests for the Euro 2012 football tournament. The campaign was launched Friday and it featured an Italian, a Russian and an Irishman recalling the time spent in Poland during the football championship, Xinhua reported.

The spot shows people cheering together in the streets of Polish cities and at stadiums. The commercial will also be aired on the radio.

"The success of Poland and Poles depends mainly on how we will greet foreign guests and what atmosphere we will create during Euro 2012. Let us present Poland as a beautiful and open country, worth coming back to. Let us highlight one of our nicest features - our hospitability. Let our foreign guests feel at home," the Government Information Centre said at its website announcing the campaign.

Posters bearing the "Feel like at home" slogan will be another medium. In the background there are fans' faces painted in their national colours. The posters and the slogan will appear in promotional materials of the campaign partners: at PKN Orlen petrol stations, at overpasses leading to Poland and in post offices, railway stations and airports.

Promotional materials - the poster, but also "How can I help" and "Welcome" badges in different languages, can be ordered over the Internet (WszyscyJestesmyGospodarzami.pl). The Polish Post is to distribute them before Euro 2012.

Two Facebook profiles have been launched - one for Poland(facebook.com/2012WszyscyJestesmyGospodarzami), and the second for foreign guests (facebook.com/PolishGuide2012).

Euro 2012, to take place from June 8 to July 1, 2012, will be co-hosted by the two countries' eight cities. The matches will be played in Poland's Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan, Gdansk and Ukraine's Kiev, Lvov, Kharkov and Donetsk. (IANS)
