Sania, Paes steady at 7th spot in WTA & ATP doubles rankings

New Delhi: India tennis players maintained their presence in the doubles rankings as Sania Mirza managed to retain her career-best seventh position in the latest WTA doubles rankings, while Leander Paes was the highest ranked Indian (7th) in the ATP doubles rankings. Rohan Bopanna retained his 11th spot while Mahesh Bhupathi gained one position to climb to 15th spot.

If Sania, who along with her Australian partner Anastasia Rodionova won the Pattaya Open in women’s doubles category, is able to retain her top 10 spot till June 21, she will get a direct entry into the London Olympics.

Meanwhile the Hyderabadi, who lost in the quarterfinals of the singles event in Pattaya Open, meanwhile, climbed up the singles' ladder to be at 97th from 111th position. The top-64 players will get a direct entry into the singles draw of the Olympics.

In the ATP singles' rankings, Somdev Devvarman slipped to 120th position.
