London: Indian combination of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna lost in the summit clash of the ATP Tour Finals after the crashed to a 7-5, 3-6,10/3 defeat against Spain's Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez on Monday.
Bhupathi and Bopanna who were vying to win the event for the first time could not get through the Spaniard duo, who showed tremendous nerve in the super tie-break to win their first Tour Finals.
Granollers and Lopez, playing in the Tour Finals for the first time, took control of things in the first set but lost momentum in the second.
With the match tied, a super tie-break was needed to decide the match and the Indian duo had no answer to their opponents and were dominated in the tie-break.
They eventually lost the match in one hour and 29 minutes.
