India Senior National C’ship: Air India, Tamil Nadu in quartersBangalore: Air India thrashed Nagaland 16-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the second Hockey India Senior National championships. Air India won all their three matches of Pool E.

Tamil Nadu also entered the quarterfinals from Pool G, they edged out Odisha for the spot in terms of goal difference. Haryana also moved closer to the quarterfinal spot with a win over Pondicherry.

Meanwhile, Karnataka defeated Himachal Pradesh 5-0.  Playing in their first match,

Karnataka were right on the money from the first minute and enjoyed the maximum ball possession. National team player,  S.K. Uthappa opened the account in the fourth minute. Nitin Thimmaiah than doubled the lead before the lemon break.

V.R. Raghunath, Mohan Muthanna and M.B. Aiyappa were the other three goal scorers for Karnataka.
