China Masters: PV Sindhu lose to Yanjiao in semis

China Masters:Sindhu upset 8th seed, Kashyap goes downHyderabad: PV Sindhu lost her semifinals match against fourth-seed Jiang Yanjiao of China 10-21, 21-14, 19-21 in a tough contest in the women’s singles category of the China Masters badminton championship.

Sindhu in the quarterfinals shocked world no 2 and Olympics gold medallist Li Xuerui of China 21-19 9-21 21-16.

Sindhu looked a bit out of sorts in the first game and she conceded a massive lead to the Chinese. Yanjiao didn’t have any problems closing the first game down.

Sindhu in the next game looked more relaxed and that reflected in her game. She got off to a terrific start in the second game, Sindhu showed some tremendous court coverage and her powerful smashes ensured that the match goes into the third and deciding game.

Both players started the deciding game well and were neck to neck in terms of points. At the closing stages of the game Sandhu showed some nerves and the experienced Chinese lashed on to the opportunities. At 19 all, Sandhu found the net and another unforced error saw lose in what was a great match.
