Olympics dream over young Soumyajit GhoshLondon: After a dream start to his maiden Olympic, Indian paddler Soumyajit Ghosh today lost 1-4 to Kim Hyok in  Bong of North Korea in the second round matchup today at the Excel centre thus bringing end to India’s challenge at the table tennis event at the London Olympics.

Ghosh started off well and looked like he carried on his form the last match as he won the first game 11-9. It looked like one more victory was on the cards for the Indian but then he lost the track completely in the next game.

The next game too failed to bring any respite to him as he lost 11-5. The fourth game saw the 19 year old Indian put up a fight and he showed patches of brilliance and tied the scores 8-8. But then some erroneous shots cost him this game as well.

Coming into the decider Ghosh tried to show some resistance but then the more experienced rallied to win the game 11-7. The match ended with a score of 9-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-9, 11-7.

Earlier another Indian paddler Ankita Das lost yesterday in her opening match 1-4 to Sara Ramirez of Spain.
