Yusuf Pathan leads Baroda to a win

Mumbai: An all round performance by Yusuf Pathan (25, 6-2) helped Baroda beat Maharashtra in the West Zone leg of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Bandra Kurla Complex here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Maharashtra failed miserably with the bat and were bundled out for a paltry score of 124 with V Zol who scored 27, emerged as the top scorer. For Baroda pick of the bowler were Munaf Patel who picked up three wickets. He was well supported by Murtuja Vahora and Yusuf Pathan who picked up two wickets apiece.

Baroda started well but lost three wickets in quick succession and at a point of time were reduced to 91 for three. It was Yusuf Pathan with his big hitting saw the home. Pathan scored a 16 ball 25. K Devdhar (52) top scored for the winning side

Brief scores: Maharashtra 124 in 32.3 overs (Vijay Zol 27, A Darekar 23*; M Patel 3/25, M Vahora 3/33, Y Pathan 2/6) lost to Baroda 125-4 in 21 overs (K Devdhar 52, Y Pathan 25*; A Darekar 3/58) by 6 wickets
