Federer defeat Isner to win BNP Paribas Open

Indian Wells: Roger Federer defeated American John Isner7-6(7), 6-3 to win the BNP Paribas Open for the record five times. Federer won the title three times from the year 2004-06.

The third seeded Federer got a strong completion in the first set from the 11th seed and the first set went into the tie-breaker. Even in the tie-breaker Isner fought hard but went down eventually.

The second set saw the Swiss master in total command as he won the second set comfortably and ended the match in one hour and 21 minutes. In the second set Federer break his opponent’s serve twice and won the last four games of the set.

With this win Federer has equaled world number two, Rafael Nadal’s record of 19 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles.
