New Delhi: The match of the 4th day was the Men’s doubles finals when the pair of Divij Sharan and Ramkumar Ramanathan of IOCL faced off against Saketh Myneni and Vijay Sunder of GAIL during the PSPB Inter Unit Tennis tournament being hosted by EIL at the RK Khanna Tennnis Complex.

After losing the first set 2-6, the IOCL pair came back strong against the experienced GAIL pair to win the second set 7-6(3). In the tie breaker IOCL won 10-4.

Earlier in the day, the singles match of the day was the quarter finals between Vishnu Vardhan(ONGC) and Ramkumar Ramanathan(IOCL). In the best of 15 contest, which was the format till the quarter finals, Vishnu continued to display good big match temperament to contain Ramkumar and won 8-5.

Earlier Yuki Bhambri(ONGC) beat Divij Sharan(IOCL) 8-1 in one of the quarter final matches.

Both Yuki and Vishnu had fairly simple wins in the Semi finals and are now due to meet in the Finals tomorrow.

The ladies singles semi finals played today saw Prerna Bhambri(GAIL) beat Sneha Devi Reddy(GAIL) quite comfortably 6-0, 6-2 while Dhruti Venugopal(ONGC) got a walkover from Ankita Raina who pulled her abdomen muscles during her match yesterday.

While going to press the Veteran doubles event was in play between the teams of OIL and ONGC.

The three finals scheduled for tomorrow promise some exciting matches scheduled as follows:

Veteran Singles Final – Hakim Ali(OIL) vs Bhushan Akut(BPCL)
at 9.30 am on Court 2

Women’s Singles Final – Prerna Bhambri(GAIL) Vs DhrutiVenugopal(ONGC)
at 9.30 am on Court 1

Men’s Singles Final – Yuki Bhambri(ONGC) and Vishnu Vardhan(ONGC)
at 10 am – On Centre Court
