Energetic Chandril beat Delhi’s Rubal Shandilaya by 6-1, 6-2 in a marathon first round match in the men’s singles, whereas Eeshita was at her best in disposing off J. Thasoorika Thavagna from Shri Lanka by 4-0,4-0 in straight sets.

Local boy Saneesh M. Mishra beat his state-mate Praful Upadhaya 4-6,6-1,6-3, whereas in the women’s single’s Delhi’s Shehnaz Singh beat Maharashtra’s Anaisha Patch by 4-1,4-0. Gaurav Bhatia of Delhi struggled a bit to beat Amritanjay Kuamr by 6-1, 6-3.

The women section matches too witnessed one sided encounters, except Six seed Surya Tejaswini form Andra Pradesh staging some fine display as she bounced back superbly to beat UP’s Shaheen Ahmed 4-1,4-0 in a first round match.
