Gulbarga: India’s Prerna Bhambri won the $10,000 ITF Gulbarga Open Women’s futures tennis championship after defeating Zi Yang of China 6-2, 6-2 in the finals.
Prerna who was unseeded in the tournament dominated the fourth seeded Chinese from the start and showed some tremendous class and power. She looked in control of the proceedings and won the opening set without any fuss.
She started the second set well and never allowed her higher ranked player to make a comeback into the match.
